![]() ![]() To the OP my suggestion is keep it simple. They have been pushing into K-12 to undercut Solidworks dominance in UG and Industry. See what Autodesk actually has on their site. 3D sketching is a special case, there is always in my feed a video going "3D sketching is great for everything." Shiny videos, with shiny well groomed people rise to the top. I'd also mention YouTube promotes what is popular and not always best practices. In one of my EE classes we designed an electric race car, with each week learning about a new component (mosfet, diode, etc) and by the end tacking all the sub components together into the final car design. Ideally you would have a master project your working towards, but you may need to teach this once or twice to find out how far you can take the kids in a semester. Then organize them in a logical way (2d sketch, then loft, then chamfer), finally work out simple (hopefully fun) projects to highlight the skill. Then show them a sample door that they can measure to design a latch to fit.Įdit- the idea in my mind is to make a list of features or techniques you want them to learn. Repeat as needed till your done.įor example you may make a small latch, using the 3D modeled catch to cut its own shape out of the latch for a perfect fit. I would teach them one technique (loft, chamfer, union) and then present a sketch they need to duplicate using that technique (and previous skills learned) then give them a simple challenge to solve a more open ended problem that could be made using your new technique. I did use google a lot to come up with ideas when I was stuck. Too much talking and the key steps typically happen fast so your always pausing and rewinding. I also tried YouTube but I’m personally not a fan. ![]() It got more complicated as you went and was easy to work out step by step. They had basic 2d and 3D sketches with dimensions and I just modeled them in fusion. finally I got a book on 1,000 cad drawings. It was very inconsistent, sometimes duplicating lessons multiple times even. Then I picked up a doggy fusion book that was basically scans of a professors notes.I picked up a book on another older cad program that was well written, but it was frustrating.I’m old school and really wanted a book to hold. ![]()
